Cobra Radar/Laser detectors?

are these any good? theres a lighting deal right now on amazon for Amazon.com: Cobra XRS9770 Voice Alert 15 Band Radar/Laser Detector with DigiView Data Display and 8-Point Electronic Compass: Car Electronics for $130. i was also looking at Amazon.com: Cobra XRS 9970G Voice Alert 15 Band Radar and Laser Detector: Electronics thats got GPS and red light speed trap memory for $210.... are these any good or a waste of money?

I used Cobra for a long time. They are pretty goodThey arent the most high end fuzz busters but they are up there. Last one I had was the XRS-R7G and it worked really well. Only reason I dont own one now is that I wanted a bigger screen so I went with the ****** Passport IQ. Its a Nav/Radar detector in one with a 5" screen.

yeah i been looking at that passport9900 or something.... but its like $1200 before install..... the one for $210 seems to have almost everythig it does, but isnt the custom install, and still sticks to the windshield.... for $210 tho if it keeps me ticket free it worth it... i might have to pick one up...

eh **** it, i just ordered the Cobra XRS 9970G for $210. paid the $4 to have it here tomorrow. ill set it up this weekend and let you guys know.

Get the ****** 9500 ix! 3 people I know including myself run them with zero problems or complains! That is the only one i would get. Unless i wanted a built in and then it would still be an ******.

already ordered the Cobra, hehe, if it sucks ill send it back. maybe it was the ****** built in that i was looking at.... ahwell, ill check this one out, seems like it does everything i want and on amazon it had like a 4 star review out of 88 reviews.

i think the best radar ystem is the passport 9500ci. i have installed about 30 of them on various cars. if you want to spend the money then this is the unit to get. i have been a car audio installer for 12 years now so i have seen quite a lot of different detectors but my personnal favorite is still the 9500ci

i have the same one and i love it. i used to have a cobra too but i will never buy a cobra again after my passport

only other brand i would look at is the valentine V1 but i still like passport better

You get what you pay for with radar detectors. I also own a 9500.
