Ford got back to me this morning and claimed the noise is "completely normal and part of the front shocks cycling". A little disappointed in the results. I'm optimistic this will turn into some type of recall in the near future as more people shine light on the problem.

If anyone finds a solution or dealership that takes this seriously, please reach out to me!

Serious question, not downplaying the issue.

If some amount of noise, clunk, etc is actually normal, does that change people’s perspective on the truck itself.

My shocks are fairly loud (kings), but I knew that going in and I am completely fine with it. Just curious as to stock truck owners perspective. Should a performance vehicle make a little noise that an all highway vehicle does not?

Some want a smooth idle and some want some lope….

Jake,

I think there's certainly merit to what you're implying. As with any vehicle, there's an accepted amount of give and take. However, when my girlfriends 2017 Honda Civic sounds smoother on a dirt road than a $80K top of the line new truck, that's a problem for me personally.

Coming from a Gen 3 TRD Pro, I expected some noticeable differences with the Raptor. What I didn't expect, was the front end sounding like it's slowly rattling apart. Perhaps I need to recalibrate my expectations, aside from this little issue it's a bad ass vehicle.

Honestly, I've grown to live with it. I truly believe a lot of the noise is the shocks cycling. Its a little annoying... But race truck? I get its not a platinum 150.

That being said, watching videos of ultra 4 cars just driving around gave me a lot more faith that its a normal sound/feel. Nothing feels off, its super planted, and I've already done some mild jumps and its been absolutely phenomenal.

I guess if they found a way to dampen the NVH a little I wouldn't be upset. But this is a whole different beast in general. Racecar/truck parts in general sacrifice some drivability. My 1000hp evo was a bear to drive... but it was fast AF.

Figured theyd say that...But my question is....For being normal, why did it start at 5k miles on mine, at least lol?? And not only that, its only coming from the passenger front on mine? Sooooo Ford made the passenger front only clunk....at a certain mileage?...Doubt it  lol. Its whatever, i do know when you beat on it and getgoing, it does go away. Id be ok with the "normal" if all 4 corners did it, then itd make sense to me....

It is not only the sound it is how it feels. This is my 4th one and I don't like it at all how it feels. Almost cheap.

Yea, this is my first Raptor. Absolutely love it still cuz when I do wanna do raptor things, it goes away. Rides awesome other than small bumps under 45ish lol. Big bumps? Don’t notice it. Highway? Smooth as can be.

I understand. Its a great truck. I do like it, just disappointing. As the weather is warming up it seems to be not quite as bad.

That’s how mine is. The loose, clunking is only on bumps at lower speeds. It’s annoying but other than this issue I love the truck.
