i thought I read on here 6-12 months ago that you could check error status codes from the sony nav unit.

But, I just dropped off the truck at the dealer and took their shuttle to work.

Becoming good friends with the service manager I've been working with lately. I'll have to find out what his drink of choice is and hook him up.

got a call from the dealership and they are saying bad catalytic converter. Covering under warranty, but they have to send it to Ford. If ford finds mud or water in it it could come back to get me.

I am surprised that it is a bad cat and not a bad sensor (the much more likely of the two to fail)...

A cat that is full of mud or water is beyond what most would call general off-road use (barring a defect in the exhaust system). For mud or water to get that far up into the system, you would have to be in mud / water deep enough to submerge the system and, especially for mud, have the engine off long enough for it to back fill the pipes. Not to mention, there is several feet of pipe to go through from the outlet to the cat.

Dude. Does your big ass even fit in one of those?

barely. I have to have a leg and a shoulder hanging out of the drivers side window and I'm hunched over like a 100 yeah old grandma. I have to get it going downhill to build momentum to keep up to the speed limit :893karatesmiley-thu

bastard.

go kill some snakes or something...

backing the boat into lake mac is pretty shallow and i have to get the rear end in pretty good. But, nothing past my rear hubs.

Rear exhaust is chopped right after muffler too...

I wouldn't thing that would cause you any issues, esp if you keep the engine running.

Yeah, engine was always running. Picture below.

From the invoice:

Drivdiag Perform Driveability Diagnosis
2600 WF
1 AL3Z*5E212*E Converter Asy
parts 0 labor 0 other 0 total 0
30430 test eec code p0240 pinpoint and dcl cat 02 pids verified
rif=ght cat inop, replace and retest

hmm...may be deeper than I thought...
