The concept of upgrading our center console lid to a leather version has been covered many times so I won't discuss that, but I took it one small step further... After upgrading mine, I wasn't completely happy with the gray stitching. I tried to convince myself that it looked good with the aluminum accents, but sitting next to the blue threading on the seats I wanted more.
I've seen the threads dyed black, but I don't believe I have ever seen them done in blue so I decided to try it. I figured if I screwed up, I could always go ahead and dye them black.
I think it turned out pretty good and looks clean. The blue isn't as bright as the OEM thread, but it is probably as close as you can get without getting a custom blended dye mixed up. Regardless for such a small and simple modification, I am happy.
