After deciding on Toyos, I think that Duratracs might treat me better as a DD....pretty long commute. One thing that I definitely want to do some day is get some air with my Raptor!:). I'm just wondering if the same "weak sidewalls" that give a cush ride, are enough for that type of maneuver. It would be pretty embarrassing, not to mention a pain in the ass, to land and have 4 popped tires!

I thought that the Duratracs had a 2 ply sidewall as opposed to the BFGs 3 ply sidewall...

Number of ply is only one factor, the duratracs do have more meat in the side walls.
I've torn the sidewall out of both, the duratrac is thicker.

I jumped a lot with mine- no issues. just keep in mind they are a little soft so running it hard will chew them up- I killed mine down to the belts in some spots and never had any issues. Great tire all around for sure- wish they made them in 37's

Ya they are soft but thats cause there an all season tire that are winter rated so they have a softer compound for cold weather. i had a set on my work truck that were good in winter and not bad in summer but as soon as the warmer weather hit they started to chunk big time and only lasted 25,000 km/15,534 mi and now have a set of Goodyear mtr kevlars and so far all-around like them more. the durtracs are stud able and would be a good winter tire if you studded them but wouldn't recommend them if you live in a warmer climate were you never see snow there are better longer lasting alternative to them.

Thanks for the replies! Sounds like the Duratracs are going to be perfect for me. You guys make this a great forum of knowledge....though the knowledge I gain here always seems to cost me $! AFE intake, Magnaflow catback, and RPG stage III are sitting in my garage. Duratracs and 5Star tune on the way. Hell....I haven't even gotten my truck yet!! Gonna be sweet though:). Thanks for all the help.
