I understand that, it’s just odd that there seems to still be 3 gallons or so of fuel left when you get that low. Ever since DTE became a thing makes the issue, people like to take it all the way down. Back when I first started driving, fuel light comes on, you got 25-50 miles. Get to the pump.
The Raptor fuel tank is very long. Park it on even a modest hill with less than a quarter tank and it may not start. So FMC pays for a tow truck and tech time under warranty. Bad deal for Ford. Fuel pumps that suck air tend to fail earlier. Bad deal for Ford. So even without user stupidity it's expected that "empty" isn't even close. If you want to push it, just figure out how yours is calibrated and drive by mileage. Or by miles after the light comes on.

I had the same exact "issue" two of my Tundras with the 38 gallon tanks. In the case of Toyota, this behavior is by design. From what I was able to gather, the instrumentation treats the tank as if it hold only 32 gallons.... essentially giving you 6 gallons of reserve beyond what the instrumentation/fuel gauge displays. In the case of Toyota, the intention of this design was to protect/preserve the fuel pump. Because of the shape of the fuel tank, when the fuel gets low the fuel pump can become unduly stressed. In other words, Toyota doesn't want you to drive the truck with less than 6 gallons in the tank . I would guess the same thing applies with the Raptor.
