Anyone have their cam phasers done and permanently fix the issue? Anyone have the problem come right back? Getting them done along with valve cover TSB. Hoping it’s fixed for good, but who knows.

There is no answer to your question. I wish you the best of luck, because it all seems to be based on luck.

It’s looking that way. May trade to a 19 or 20…realize it’s a crap shoot that they may have the same issues but at least it’s a truck that hasn’t been torn into

I think the latest parts to fix this properly are working. You should be in good hands. Don’t fret it, just get louder exhaust if it comes back, lol, but you’ll be okay!

There is no luck involved here, the issue is rare, but exacerbated online by those who get victimized by it. The problem is real, but the frequency is very low in the entire model line or Raptors. That doesn’t help anyone who actually has the problem, but the total failure rate is low. We’re talking about the most popular vehicle in the USA here so we tend to see only the Raptors affected.

The latest revision parts have exceedingly few repeat issues, but, previous iterations did have repeat issues sometimes.

Once the repair is completed, you’ll move on with life and resume enjoying life with a Raptor.

Mine has been solid for at least 20,000 miles now. Same with plastic oil pan but it’s been good for closer to 40,000.

Has anyone had the Cam issue after permanently disabling the start/stop since new? Just curious if that would play any part into it.

My phasers just crapped. ‘19 w/ 22k miles. Local dealers are super backed up in Houston and they’re about 6 weeks out.

No, disable the start/stop function doesn’t prevent the issue.
