Message: <blockquote data-quote="noblesramair" data-source="post: 1017981" data-attributes="member: 20507">I've bought many vehicles out of state and from my experience its as simple as this:  Buy a vehicle out of state and pay local tax.  They will want a local address though if you put local plates on it (from my experience).  If you keep those plates then great but be careful some states are not happy with this especially if you buy in a state that has no sales tax!  If you pay taxes in another state but register it in your local state you'll have to pay the difference in taxes and/or pay a "use tax" if you register it within a certain time frame after initially buying it (usually within 6 months or more depending on the state).  OR: Many times the dealer can just register it in your local state but they have to have a specific titling company that can do it for them and theres usually an additional cost.  If you go this route taxes will be taken into account for you based on your local state.  The issue here is many dealers don't have access to every state, that varies from dealer to dealer.OR: last option, the dealer charges you NO TAX and you pay local tax when you register it in your local state.  Just be prepared to write a large check when you go to register your new truck!</blockquote>
