I've tried to do my own research before asking questions, but I'm new at this and need some education. Is there a way to upgrade my stock bump stop without buying a mounting system? Can I just buy, for example, the fox 2.0 or 2.5 bumps stops and mount them on my truck as is? I see these bump stop systems that are in the $1200 dollar range but also see bump stops that cost $400 without a mounting setup. Is the mounting an additional improvement, or necessary for any bump stop upgrade? Thanks in advance!

And to be aware of my needs, my main interest is in off-road racing scenarios, not big monster jumps. I don't live near any dunes or anything. Also, I am buying progressive springs and going to mid-perch. Do either of these changes add any level of safety?

You will want the whole system. I used my truck on some pretty mild terrain prior to purchasing the kit from Svc and bent my frame :(

Where are you going to mount a fox 2.0 or 2.5 on the truck as is?

The factory bump stops are not interchangeable with the fox, king, or icon bump stops. The reason the aftermarket ones are so expensive is because they provide a mounting location and frame reinforcement. There are ways to not buy the whole kit but that requires some pretty extensive modification and welding.

^I'm glad that's not a rap.

Back on topic, If you're thinking bump stops you need to consider the big picture. You can actually do a decent job of strengthening the weak spot on the frame with an SDHQ kit.

SDHQ Ford Raptor Rear Frame Reinforcement Kit

Just remember that once you eliminate one weak point, it's going to create another. There has also been some healthy debating way back about safety concerns when eliminating a potential "crumble zone".
The leaf springs really are a joke. Changing them out with a custom pack to suit your needs should be near the top of the list. Doing so will require removing the lift block and OE bump stop. I installed an SDHQ OE replacement. It would be a direct bolt in if you went with national or Deaver leaf's. I went with Atlas and had to do a bit of modifying.
It's all about what you can afford. Also remember once you start upgrading one weakness, it tends to amplify the next weakness. Upgrading the OE springs up front and the ass end is going to feel much more unstable off road. And even on poor paved roads.
Just don't try to re engineer your truck like the rock head above. It will cost you dearly in dollars and sense.
