Disclaimer: not a professional their but I did take a few classes on unlocking and starting things that you don’t have the keys to.

People like to talk about Ford’s poor door lock design. Truth is they are the most common vehicle on the road. So anyone that wants to increase their chance of getting in or be able to resell parts they want a common vehicle.

Just like what was mentioned earlier, your fob and truck are constantly transmitting. Just like stealing WiFi you just have to piece it together and replicate it. Without searching too hard you can find devices on the inter web to assist in your learning. Best way to do it is get the code and make tour own key fob.

With all that said, sometimes old tech is better. If we could padlock the door and chain the steering wheel it would slow the thieves but if someone wants it they will take it. Ideally we can slow them down or discourage them enough so we can disturb their efforts.

Or leave the keys on the front seat and hope for the best.
