Anyone have a clue why all of the black Raptors we've seen have a white strip of trim under the front grill? It's not on any of the other color trucks. We saw it first on the black super crew spy shots, and I'd just assumed it was temporary. But now Ford is showing some media/studio shots of a black supercab and it has the exact same piece of trim. You'd think Ford would have painted it for the photo shot, or at least have photoshopped it out. On the high res shots it looks more like a cover than just a white piece of trim - at least it looks slightly larger than the trim pieces it joins to.

But if it isn't temporary, then what would it be?

Would be nice if it's a place holder for an optional integrated light bar. I'm normally not a light bar guy, but if one were well integrated into the truck, I'd go for it. I'm probably just dreaming though.

My best guess is that it won't be on the final production model. I don't know exactly what it is, and I love the idea of an integral/easy add-on 30' single row light bar, but if you blow up the picture that shows the black SCAB and AG SCREW you can see a very small line on the SCREW where it looks like the white bar was covered up via photoshop/post-shoot. So it just makes me feel like they covered it up on that, and perhaps were rushed for time or something and left it on the black Raptor. I don't really know.

And now that I'm typing it, this guess seems stupid. But it either has a really important purpose (Like connected/having to do with the front skid plate somehow), or it won't be on the production model what-so-ever. Just a regular guys guess.

(Before I start, sorry for the double post). But never mind. I semi-resind my previous statement. You can see in this photo: http://st.motortrend.com/uploads/sites/5/2016/01/2017-Ford-F-150-Raptor-SuperCrew-front-end-021.jpg from Motor Trend of a white or AG SCREW, that there are two small lines on either side where this white piece would be on a black Raptor. So it was not adjusted post-production.

Now look at this photo. Early stages of the new Raptor testing with the new front clip. Photo from SEMA website/the spied set. https://www.sema.org/system/files/images/i-GMmjqHf.jpg There is no white piece in the center.

So, it is a factory trim piece. Hence the trim lines shown on the top photo. And there is a photo out there of a black Raptor (Pre-prodution/Early phase) with no white trim piece. I'm not sure why I'm getting so into this. But again, I don't think it will be on the final production models.
