I'd start by unplugging them, if they make a light come on, plug them back in and cover the lens, no reason for anyone to need a pic of you while driving, unless they are trying to place you someplace or jam you up.

So, with all this conversation… I wondered why Ford Pass would need access to my phone camera?
Give an inch… they take a mile!

Interesting. I logged in to post this picture and ask what these are. I've seen YouTube videos where you can see IR lights inside both of them, which is how I noticed them. I believe you're wrong about the purpose but it's quite possible they're cameras. I think they're there for BlueCruise functionality, which I understand looks for your eye direction to ensure you watch the road. There is a big difference between a camera tied into a system and one recording you and saving the images, but it's possible it could do both.

Curious if anyone has better info to confirm the function of these specific things.
I believe this is true. Its for the Blue Cruise to make sure you are looking at the road.
But you know its also filming you and they can probably get the video if they ever wanted it.
Its kind of creepy and I can understand the OPs worry.
Combine this with the drive to put kill switches in our cars and you have some weird big brother stuff happening.
Now if someone was so inclined, I'm sure a piece of tape or something could be placed over said cameras to block the view, so its not a huge deal.
But it is good to point it out for anyone who is interested in that kind of thing.
If the police want to watch me pick my nose while I drive I say more power to them. But that's just me.

Picture whatever you choose, you took the time to open the manual and read the stuff most people skip. I will not place a smiley face, or clapping hands for fear it will be misinterpreted. Now, you know more than you did yesterday, you’re welcome.

I read your screenshot. I don't own a Gen 3, and therefore, don't have a manual. I didn't say you needed to use emojis, I simply gave some suggestions so maybe your next PSA isn't meet with tin foil hat memes. You're welcome.

Yes, those are cameras. Yes, the justification for them being there is for blues clues. Yes, as the manual says, what the camera records could be used against you. It just doesn't need to be said with lots of exclamation points and hysteria. The whole "I know answers but I'm not going to tell you" makes you sound like you're off your rocker.

So since blue cruise isn't a feature, ways to block the camera, or repurpose it for for security, would be rather helpful.

A piece of vinyl that has a pic of you driving your truck on the sticky side (so camera always see you driving properly) would be pretty handy.
You are just checking to see if we are really reading your post thoroughly, right? Everyone needs a little Blues Clues in their truck.
