Just ordered mine one week ago, was wondering what shape of jump is best to land all 4 wheels at once.I want to get a few pics, but don't want to nosedive it.I'm thinking a long incline with shorter dropoff or up then flat.I jumped a raised railroad track in a '77 f-150 when I was in high school, almost bounced out the window when I landed. I'd like to redeem myself. Any suggestions would appreciated.

It's all about the landing  which means it's all about the takeoff  and the orientation of the vehicle and the speed as it approaches the bump/jump.

Suggestion for you: Drive your Raptor when you get it. Drive it a lot. Don't worry about jumping it and avoid doing it for a while. Once you get a feel for the truck and how it handles then you'll have a better idea about how to take and make jumps.

+1 Dan's advise.

And just to add a bit... once you've driven it a ton, look into attending one of the Raptor Roundups. You'll get to drive a course specifically tailored for jumping the Raptor, and you'll get to drive with a professional driver riding copilot. And maybe best of all? If you're not comfortable yet in your truck, drive one of theirs... all for free. Its really an amazing opportunity worth the effort of going.

Keep your eye open here for announcements like this one, by Mike McNellis: http://www.svtoffroad.com/f20/upcoming-raptor-roundups-fall-2011-a-4297/

And if it makes you feel better, come to the one in Phoenix and I could be your co-driver!

Thanks for the advice, It's well taken. This is a major investment for me and I plan on keeping it probably forever.I am interested in going to a roundup someday, how would I find one in the Midwest. That sounds like the safest way to go. Thanks again.

C'mon Dorothy, it's time to leave Kansas even if you have to go by tornado  or flying monkeys

Maybe shoot Mike a PM asking that. None of us can really predict when or where, since we're not affiliated with Ford.

And having said that, I think the reason the events are so localized is because they're put on by a group of local dealerships and supported by Fox/Ford/SVT. Without those dealerships heading it up, I don't think it would happen. Again though doublecheck with Mike. I'm just guessing at that.
