I purchased a 2018 Raptor a couple of weeks ago. It was fully loaded except for beadlock wheels. I do off-road quite a bit and was trying to get a consensus on how many people have actually used their beadlock wheels for off reading? I do like the look of the wheels and was trying to find them online but I haven’t had much success. Any feedback would be appreciated. BTW I have really enjoyed this truck for the short time l have been driving it on/off road.

Depends how hardcore you’re planning on going with off-roading. If you want to air down the tires considerably then the beadlock rims plus real beadlock rings would be a good idea (the rings that come on the wheels from the factory are “vanity” rings and don’t serve any real purpose).

I’ve taken mine off roading numerous times in sand and mud and not needed “real” beadlocks. I have the beadlock wheels with the standard vanity rings.

If you want the factory beadlock rims, they’re usually on eBay or craigslist.

I went with beadlocks on my 2018 because I thought that the shoulders on the standard wheels would get gouged on rocks. I do a fair amount of off road driving...stream crossings through baby head sized rocks.

Other than this one possible issue, the standard wheels will work great.

the beadlocks look nice but if you care they’re heavy,
20 psi is no problem with non beadlocks and probably guys go lower so how low will you air down? and do you need beadlocks?

I bought the factory BL wheels because the standard cast wheels didn't look very special...and when I starting looking for aftermarket wheels (while the truck was already ordered, but not built yet) I couldn't find anything with the OE backspacing....an issue for me:

1) Non factory backspacing seems to induce tire rub, and while many shrug it off with "it only rubs when turned all the way and going up a driveway" that doesn't fly with me as I planned on off roading and having brand new wheels rub when I use all the travel sucks..
2) I know some like the look with the tire/wheel sticking way out of the fenders...well that's a sign of poor engineering and looks just as visually stupid to me...All the fab shops build high end race trucks and NONE of them have their wheels sticking out to look "cool"

Wow...I just changed lanes...sorry..
I haven't gotten to that point where I think I need real BL rings yet..most of my desert running I'll run about 24 psi up front and drop the rears to about 20-22....So far it's been working...

BTW My vanity rings have taken a few hits and looks like they saved the wheel from doing so and I can replace the rings if needed...
