Curious if anyone has heard anything about how long it will be until beadlocks will be available again?

I got the infamous dealer delay message about beadlocks. Funny thing was, they didn't ask if I wanted to drop them, they said I had to drop them because they were no longer available, they were going to change my order, and my job would get scheduled for a February build. I quickly vetoed that. I said they will be available again, its just a matter of time, you (dealer) go find out how long. In their defense, my dealer read me the email they received and that was pretty much how it was communicated to them by Zone (not sure who that it, some order management middle-man?).

I ordered 10/12 and still waiting to be scheduled. I would consider dropping the beadlocks, but I really hate the stock wheels. I can't buy forged beadlocks for $1200 anywhere. With mounting, alignment, balancing I figure I'm out 2500-3000 if go aftermarket. Haven't seen anything aftermarket I love yet either. I like that the Ford beadlocks can be mounted as either standard or beadlocks, as I don't want to maintain beadlocks year round. I would be curious if there are aftermarket that do the same? I seem to see either true beadlocks, street wheels, or the kinda fake beadlock look on street wheels. I hate the latter... Its like making scissors that don't cut anything, but look look really sharp from a distance.

Stick with what you really want.

As a side note, your stocks with the tires should be worth $1,500 to sell outright against your forged set?

It would be nice if Ford would offer beadlock capable wheels at a discounted price to owners that opted out to get their trucks earlier, when they are available and plentiful.

My order is also in a holding pattern due to the beadlocks. I'm not dropping them and my dealer is cool with that. He said his Ford rep told him March or April 2017 until they are available again, but that was just a guess.

+1. Would make it a bit easier if they at least sold them for cost.

Does anyone know if there are "beadlock capable" aftermarkets, vs just true beadlock or simulated beadlock?

I don't think there any aftermarket wheels that allow both. Its just one or the other.

I'm pretty sure that Ford patented the "beadlock capable" feature which allows the user to choose either beadlock or standard based on where the outer tire bead is seated. It's simple yet brilliant; which unfortunately makes me insist on keeping them on my order.

If the base cast wheels had the dark gray finish shown on early gen 2 prototypes, I would probably switch to the base wheels. However, I can't stand the machined base wheel finish. Aftermarket powdercoating in my area would require my to drive 150+ miles each way and would cost $600 for full service. Plus, I'd probably need to spend the night in an area hotel while the shop completes the PC process.

I'll wait several more months if needed, but I'm sticking with the forged OEM beadlock capable wheels.
