Mines been fine ever since my post lol. I’m going to reinstall my dongar rear mirror harness that has a tapped in usb port for a dash cam back. Wondering if somehow that’s messing with the battery drain.

Ford mobile tech just left. Checked for fault, a few messages came up which were date/time stamped the day i found it dead. They all cleared.

He then checked the battery (my second one that replaced the original my truck came with in 11/2001.

The battery readings were all strong.

Stumped, they placed a call to the shop foreman who instructed the tech to swap out the battery with another new one (3rd battery in the truck now since taking delivery)

Hope 3rd time is the charm! Will post back if anything happens like before (truck dead)

That’s wild. Did they give any rationale to why they’d replace the battery if it tested fine? I mean I hope it fixes it but I’m just wondering what the reasoning would be.

They said they wanted to eliminate a potential bad cell in the battery. Although it seemed to me like they felt they had to do something other than say "not really sure". Lol. So they gave me another new battery since it's covered under warranty. I did notice this one has a sticker of 7/23 and the last was 10/23. Odd. Wonder if I'm now in lemon law territory?

Also, battery Made In Germany , who would have thought?

Good luck with the lemon law thing. Are you original owner?

I had issues with the entire dash going black and then every fault in the world coming up. The voltage regulator went out in the alt and threw 1000 gremlins at me. I put a multi meter on the battery with the ac on and ac off and it was spiking outside the require range. Not leaning that way for you and your symptoms but wouldn't hurt to check at the battery to see if it coincides with your dash readings. I bet it does though...happy hunting.

Couple things for OP:

Are you positive start/stop is not functioning due to the battery charge? The SS strategy seems pretty complicated for it to work and may not be battery related at all and is just normal operation. If you aren't getting deep sleep mode or other issues it's probably fine. I'm pretty sure the BMS is set to not exceed 80% state of charge anyway. Tough making sense of any of the voltage readings given how complex the system is.

Knock on wood I haven't had battery issues on my early 2021. Not even a deep sleep mode notification. Completely anecdotal, some of my modules were updated at an early service and I have had zero issues with OTA updates over the last 2+ years. My truck is also parked far underground in a concrete structure away from my key fobs.

Seems like some battery problems are related to module issues (not sleeping because key fob is too close, some self test/boot loop, who knows - some guy even had a video of his fuel pump not turning off that would drain the battery after a couple hours). Or the truck getting stuck in some voltage sucking OTA update glitch. There is also a TSB that may apply related to the A/C system causing a battery drain.

@NJ2020 : I recently started storing my fob in a faraday box. Wonder if that may be causing an issue if the truck is always in search for a signal ? Unless I misread above and ur talking about the puddle lights always on when fob close
