I've got BD squadron lights on my bed rail right behind the cab facing backwards as a dust/trail light.

I want to put a bakflip MX4 on the truck, but the lights prevent that.

Are there any alternative mounting schemes for the lights? Having a usable, lockable bed is becoming more important to me than a couple lights I'll use a few times a year.

This is what I did. I had a sheet metal fabrication shop make a custom mount that slips under the bed cover. It was bolted on the bed with jack nuts and the lights were mounted with the SDHQ Off-road chase light mounts. I unfortunately don’t have the truck anymore so these are the only pictures I have of it. The only thing I cut was the styrofoam molding for the chase lights. I will try to find the old mounts in my garage somewhere for more pictures. Cheers!

do you not have to remove the bak flip when "off roading"

i was under the impression the bed would flex and the cover would come loose or fall off.

Bak Flip was pretty sturdy when it came to off-roading. It had a limit though. Once I started jumping the truck it started to come loose but never fell off.

What about a 3rd brake light mounted set? That’s what I did and I am very happy with my GJ Motorsports mount
