Does anyone have a problem with the BAKFlip MX4 leaking on their 2019 model? Is it supposed to leak water.? Mine leaks on the edges where the tailgate meets the upper 1/4" panel and can also puddle along the edge of the step inside power tailgate.

Just curious if anyone else is seeing the same. I know they aren't water tight but Im wondering if the install is incorrect on mine.

OK thanks for the replies. If anyone around is searching and wanted to buy the BAKFlip MX4, understand that it will leak. I think this has been talked about possibly a few times on different forums however I wanted to update the information. It leaks on the 19 so if water tight is what you need, look elsewhere.

I was able to fix this issue using some weatherstripping myself and add it in but still wish I went a different route possible after spending a ton of cash on the truck. You would just figure being water tight is the purpose of one of these caps.

It does not leak on my 2018, installed for about 16 months.

There is quite a bit of adjustabillity built into the design. the key is to make sure you have about 1/2 inch of bed showing at the rail next to the cab, then the overlap in the back should be correct.

Any leaking is designed to collect water in the channels, then flow that towards the cab, then down the tubes out the bed holes.

I would double check your install and make sure you are in alignment.

Here is the correct overlap in the rear.
