That antenna sticks WTF up there. Ridiculous that Ford puts these on $30,000 trucks. Buy a shortie. A couple inches of lift with new springs is about all you want anyway, unless you've got tens of thousands of dollars burning a hole in your pocket.

the long antenna is actually quite useful, especially if you park in parking garages. If it hits, its time to jump out and check if the roof will hit. If it clears, you're in the clear.

Yes, it's useful. But it's too long. I've got 84 inches of clearance into my garage and that thing dragged down the back of the garage door, clang, clang, clang. It's what, 78.5" to the top of the shark fin? If the antenna was six inches shorter it would be about right. Besides, I just read the sign going into the parking garage. It's much easier than jumping out to look. :)

Well... not all 6’9” garages are created equal. Some are very friendly, where the low spot they account for is actually 6’ 9”, and you’re golden, but, sometimes the 6’ 9” clearance is from a low hanging pipe as you begin climbing up a ramp, in which case you will definitely hit, but fortunately your 6” too tall antenna hits first, and you know that proceeding further will result in significant damage.

But I NEVER go into parking garages, Move to a better locale, blah, blah, blah
When you get the call that Dad is in the ER, you can bet Dad didn’t tell the paramedics “hey, listen - my son drives a big @ss Raptor, take me to a hospital with a Raptor friendly garage, ok?” Of course, you’re in East BF, WV, so you don’t divert to the house to pick up a peasant car, you hot foot it to the hospital and find a place to park the truck and wedging the truck into a parking garage ramp doesn’t help you park faster.

Long antenna good.

This. I've been known to walk an extra quarter mile to avoid one. But that happens once every couple of years.

Yeah, special circumstances have a way of messing up the best plan. I took mine off anyway. Most parking garages out here would handle my old Dodge at 83.5", so the Raptor would sail through. If I went into one. I haven't yet. I'll trade the once in lifetime wedge to avoid the several times per day annoyance of dragging that thing across the back of the garage door.

Seems like we've degenerated into a height/antenna conversation... I've been looking in some other threads and it seems like there's no way to do an FMIC with the S8 installed, although nobody has weighed in on the Procharger intercooler yet. I'll maybe fire off a more focused thread with that in mind. In the meantime it looks like there are lots of stock-location improved ICs that would do the trick. Thanks for all your feedback gents.

And with respect to the conversation about garage parking, unfortunately, I have to park in a garage at work, or pay absurd street parking rates. One of these days I'll check and see how much clearance there really is above the roofline/sharkfin.

Alternatively, I could just take the train more and keep the miles off my truck....

Fair point... but my average MPGs in my truck is like 17. My commute is like 65 miles per day. Work pays for my train pass. Free vs. $$. Timewise it's almost a wash. Train is like 5 minutes longer, but I get to read.

Well if the train ride is decent, then I can’t argue with those stats.

Downforce those pics scream freedom! I love em and the truck! What brand bumper is that? I am getting the ADD Pro V1 bumper and am not sure about what intercooler system I should get. Any guidance from anyone on this thread would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Also, I'm a noob so if I'm not posting correctly given my question, I am coachable in that dept. as well. I hate to be the guy, making a thread sloppy.

Thanks bud..

ADD Pro.. Came off a friend's truck, and I had it repowdercoated to match my wheels/flares.. I have the SVC intercooler but the drivers side pipe hits the bumper pretty hard so they really don't work together.. go with the ADD intercooler if you're doing ADD bumpers..
