Gotta say. I can't wait to never do these again as soon as possible.

Directions sucked. Baja get your act together.

Yeah I did go look at some videos those helped a bit.

I've got a great idea, how about never using allen head screws again.

Did the install. I just feel that a 7th grader could have written better installation instructions for the most part.

And Allen head screws for the bracket is stupid.

If they had used regular screws you'd have the same issue... trying to get a screw driver in there to tighten the bracket. Nobody uses regular screws to attach brackets to lights, so that's not really specific to Baja.

I'm not sure what kit you went with... I know the Baja kits that they put out don't have THE BEST instructions. We put out our own triple fog kit with our own brackets, and we made our own instructions which are a bit better from what we're told.

But yeah, when you start mounting 3 lights next to each other, it does get tight in there all right.

No. I'm calling it what it is. The instructions sucked. And even someone doing one install can write far better instructions if they are any more than half retarded.

Just because no one is using a different type of fastener does not mean it's being done the best way right now!

Sort of expect things to be ironed out by sales year 4.

Used to hear that all the time in the service.

"Hey Sergeant, why do we do it that way?"

"Because that is how I learned and the guy before me learned"

Zero outside the box thinking and improving the process.

First big install tip

1. INSTALL THE BRACKET ON THE TRUCK FIRST WITHOUT LIGHTS ON IT.
2. Install and tighten down all the lights individually after that.

That alone would have saved a bit of time and aggravation.

After that it would take a modicum of ingenuity to monkey label the wires and go number by number. Easy.

I mean really, it's a 900+ dollar light kit. Not exactly cheap.

Didn't take much to figure it out as it is, just can and should have been explained and labeled better. Literally the included instructions are near useless. yay for youtube.

To their credit the wires and connectors themselves were good enough. Any more than what they did is just whining. I'll have to clean up the wiring this morning and it's good to go.

See we actually tell people it's easier to install the lights on the brackets first, tightening them down JUST ENOUGH so the lights don't move on their own BUT you can still move them a bit. Then again, our kit is different then what you installed I reckon.

As for the method in which the light is secured to the smaller brackets... what fastener would you have in mind for improvements?

Again, we didn't sell you the kit but we're always looking to help all Raptor owners out when it comes to lighting

We agree with the harness labeling though, which is why our own kit includes our own harness that is labeled.

Look at that! smart A, B, C labeling.

good stuff

The allen screws securing the light to the brackets are ok.

The two Allen screws securing the bracket to the truck makes me want to load drum magazines.

Fun? Nah, and I typically love these projects.

At least finding the upfitter wiring harness was super easy.

Our harness is also 1 solid harness with the 3 connectors.

As for the mounting method in the sportsmen kit you got... that's a pretty common method for securing things though. We use M6 and M8 nuts/bolts on our own brackets, which would require 2 wrenches to snug it down.

With Baja's method, 1 wrench + 1 allen key. So in a way, it's the same concept where you need 2 tools to secure the bolt.

What issue did you have out of curiosity? You should have just been able to hold a wrench on one side and then tighten the bolt with an allen key on the other (or vice versa)

biggest issue by far is the order things are mounted to the truck.

bracket. Then each light individually.

otherwise there is little room to get in there and put bracket screws in. just much easier with no lights in the way.

an allen key and a wrench is a pain in the ass. two wrench's, much easier. or you have the option to use a socket
