- do individual panel lock open? I mean if I opened the first panel, would it be secured to the back of the second one or will it just sit there due to weight?

- do any F1 fit the Raptor or it must to be a specific F1 model (such ads selling backflip f1 without mentioning for which car, is it safe to buy that?)

- I assume no drilling on the bed rails (other than drainage hose)?

- anyone having the F1 for a while can say any cons (or would be better if it was there) features.

Thanx...

When you open the first panel, it just lays on the middle panel. BUT the middle is locked in place, till you pull the 2nd panel release. When all 3 panels are folded, they can be secured with 2 rods, up against the rear window. Bakflips have been around before the 2010 Raptors were introduced.

No drilling to install the 2 side rails. # quick clamps on each side. @ thumb screws hold the cover to the side rails. YES you drill 3/4-1" holes, through your front bed panel plastic plugs for the 2 drian tubes.

You need the 5 1/2" (66") F1 that has NO Factory Track System. Part # 72309

Thanx Randy...

I see, I was just thinking if I got something to carry on bed but do not need all panels to be opened, but only the first one or first two. Guess if they are not lockable, then just open all of them and secure. If the FiberMax is coming within a month then I am in the market for that otherwise I will get an F1. I just sent PM to BAK regarding details.

Any cons anyone?

fibermax is a step under the f1, but above the G2, from what I understand.

Also the bakflip for our trucks only have 3 panels. There's a 4th "mini-panel" but it's really just the bulkhead panel that secures the cover down and it doesn't open.

You can secure the 1 or 2 panels open. There's small D-rings at the front of the cover by the cab wall, and then there's another set on another panel underneath (forget which one). I plan on just running a bungee cord from the front panel D-rings into the bed to a tiedown or something just to ensure that if I'm running with 1 or 2 panels flipped open, and not all 3 with it flipped against the cab, that the wind won't catch it and flip it shut. I can see plenty if situations where Id only want 1 or 2 open and not all 3 with it blocking the rear window.

Thanx... Perfect. However, are those rings on both F1 & FiberMax or only F1?
