My truck is built and on it's way to the dealership. It should be here in two weeks. I want to have the bed rail caps Line X'd (in addition to the bed) but also want to put a Backflip F1 on the truck. Does anyone know if the two are compatible? I'm thinking no, because the F1 needs a smooth, flat non textured surface to create a seal???? Am I correct any my assumptions? Curious what you guys think and if anyone has a Backflip F1 with Line X on the bed rail caps.

??? bed cap rails

I just don't understand why you would want to LineX the bed rail caps! Yes the bakflip would not seal very well on a textured surface. I just don't see what would be gained by LineX on the bed rail caps. You really don't see them unless your right up on the truck and they don't need protection being plastic. If the LineX texture look is what your going for I would remove the rail caps and lineX the bed and where the rail caps cover.

^^ what he said. The plastic rubber molding on the F1 will not seal well against a line-x surface. I would expect lots of water infiltration into the bed which then would make the cover pointless.

I thought about siliconing the bed rail caps to keep water from going in there, but thats about it. The Linex guy said you have to break the rail caps off and whats under them looks like ****** metal with a bunch of holes in it.

My intention was to Line X the bed cap rails because on my last truck, the bed cap rails faded very fast and were chewed up from all of the abuse I put them through. I also wanted it to match, since I an going to Line X the plastic on the fender well.

Since I need the BackFlip F1 more, I will not Line X the bed rails.

Thanks for the info.
