If you look up the amp I used, it's really small.

I'm not running a subwoofer though.  Only the 4 door speakers.

If I was going to run a sub, I'd probably use a small Mono amp and put it behind the rear seatback on the cab wall and/or on the back side of the enclosure.  Or just run a 5-channel and put it back there in that area.

I used a small amp and it's located under the main center stack basically (forward of the shifter/under the aux switchpad on the floorpan).  I pulled the console out and there's room under there for smaller amps.  You can't fit a 5-channel under there though; it'll have to go in the back or inside the actual console area and/or maybe under the passenger seat.

I don't know if the JL box will fit in our trucks or not.  The MTX looks like a viable option, but the JL's perform and sound great.  There's also a couple of newer shallow-mount subs on the market that *might* fit into the stock OEM sub box; I think that's been hashed out over on another 150 oriented forum, but I didn't look into it too far.  QLogic also has a couple enclosures that may work, I think their application stops at the 08 my, but I don't think the rear floorpan/set changed from then to now.

My setup is more budget oriented and was intended to sound  good for general listening at moderate volume levels.  It's not complete audiophile grade; but it sound a whole notch better than the OEM Sony setup that I listened to.

For anyone that doesn't have the Sony audio and just got the stock/base system (no nav) like I did.  About the best thing you can do is install a set of moderately priced door speakers (all 4) and get the stock A-pillar Sony tweeters to raise the sound stage.  That's the single easiest/fastest massive improvement you can do.  JL/Alpine/Pioneer and a few others all have good sounding 2-ways that are direct fits for the doors.  Sound dampening inside the door panels will help give you a cleaner sound, some people react to things like that, some just want it "loud" with heavy bass.  I like sound quality more than just noise though.
