I think its a pretty flexible decision.  You can have two separate valves or a T into one valve. I have seen people put them to the right of the license plate, seen them as the bottom two holders for the license plate holes, seen someone make a bracket to put it next one of the rear tow hooks, seen someone put it in the fender well.  I've got a 1000 kit waiting to be installed and I'm thinking of putting it in the onboard power panel in the inside of the bed.
