Your buddy didn't have the settings right on his Tesla - he likely left the surveillance stuff on which burns lots of power and is well documented.  I would say you lose 40% of your range in the coldest winter months in Western NY.  We're not ready to just have EV's with our climate and driving needs.  But within a few years, I think it'll get there.</blockquote>
