Anyone doubling up spares on flat bed spare tire racks like JDS or KHC? Or have a chase rack recommendation that could fit under a Retrax cover?
I have the same dilemma, and I also need my bed open often for mountain bike trips. Those ADD ones linked above are pretty sweet and would work pretty well, but they definitely have the Raptor tax on them. I did see someone at the Raptor Rally at KOH a couple of weeks ago with 2 flat mounted spares (he had them near the tailgate for weight distribution). I didnt see a rack, just some D Rings and straps. I didnt hear of any issues with tires coming out over the 2 days and we got after it pretty good. I think this may be the way I go (for now). Ideally, what I would I love is a traditional bed rack for 2 vertical tires, but have some sort of base/mount and a way to relatively quickly disconnect and remove it and just leave the mount/base behind. This would allow me to have it in place during runs when I need it and keep the bed open the rest of the time.
