Anyone doubling up spares on flat bed spare tire racks like JDS or KHC? Or have a chase rack recommendation that could fit under a Retrax cover?
Your approach of keeping a tire in the OEM slot and one in the bed is probably the smartest move for my needs. I did see a thread on Gen2 rack and covers which led me to these ADD tire carriers which look pretty nice and can be mounted where I need them but they're pricey. Seems there are a few threads on covers and carrier but none on the concept of two tires being held down on a flat style bed mount tire carrier. Ultimately, I think the JDS Customs rack w/ the power tank and jack mount would be perfect for 99% of my use so will probably go that route. Was hoping someone on here was using a similar setup and actually had two spares mounted in the bed this way just to see if it was feasible. Worst case, OEM spot and one in the bed will be my move!
