Anyone doubling up spares on flat bed spare tire racks like JDS or KHC? Or have a chase rack recommendation that could fit under a Retrax cover?
Hi All - I’m wondering if anyone is using a bed mounted flat style spare tire mount, such as JDS Customs or KHC, to hold two spare tires stacked on top of each for extended off-road runs? Supposedly it’s doable but I’m wondering if it’s “doable” but don’t actually do it. Not sure how the hardware and bed bolts would handle the abuse. I’d prefer to not go full chase rack as I enjoy having my Retrax cover on the bed and would only need two spares a couple times a year. Wondering if anyone has experience using that style of spare tire mount and can them holding up to off roading (TORR or TRR events for example). Alternatively, if anyone has any recommendations on a chase rack that I could use with my Retrax cover that would be helpful too (probably a pipe dream though). If I missed a prior thread on this when searching let me know and I’ll close this one down. Any help is appreciated.
