When I was calling every dealer around on July 18, I came across a dealer in Racine Wisconsin (Porcaro Ford) and they told me they had an allocation available for 100k over msrp. Asked me if I wanted to start the bidding. I laughed and hung up. I did put a 10k deposit down on one at the same dealership I bought my 2022 from for 20k adm, their one and only allocation. But I had told them in February I wanted it if they got one, and they obliged me. But for 215k I will buy a ferrari

Lmao Craigslist! Sure thing. Haven’t had my identity stolen in a while. We should all just bombard them with calls and start a bidding war. Although seeing that is as ridiculous as the calls and e-mails I got over the past two days from local dealers that offered me between 62-66k for my Gen 2 as trade in for Gen 3’s whose ADM puts them well north of 100k. Plenty of equity in my Gen 2 which would be negated by their ADM to a degree.

You can’t make this up… one dealer tried to convince me that the reason they priced their 2022 Gen 3 at $105k is because of the “extra” options. When I responded with a picture of the window sticker for that VIN Raptor from Ford’s website and asked “what options? Is this a Velociraptor? I don’t think so” I got crickets back. Another dealer texted they have 3 Gen 3’s all $15k ADM. And the ADM’s are holding which means there are enough buyers who are paying well north of 100k for a Gen 3…enjoy that. I really hope Ford finds a loophole to allow us to order directly from them.

Farley called this practice out on the Ford earnings call threatening to pull allocations from dealers. Let’s see if he has the nuts to do it. That Craigslist ad needs to be flipped to Levine…. That’s BS…

Ford needs to start a new company and establish the direct sales model like Tesla and Rivian.
At this point, no more mercy for the conventional dealers.
The legacy structure that car companies are still running has also way too complex and too many costly middle layers with sales reps and area reps and all that between the manufacturer and the customer..
