Any one have issues with TA KO2 20 inch tire balancing?

I've ordered my 20" wheels for the truck, and I want to stay with the KO2's as the stock one I've had an exceptional experience both summer and winter.

However, the shop that I deal with do not want to deal with these tires anymore as they said they've had too many not balancing and became a pain in the ass for them and their customers.

My question is, if that's the case and I've read some other forum and some people run into balancing issues, any other tire that would compare with them? Never considered any other tire than these, so i'm at a lost stage currently.....

These tires are a pain to deal with. When they are molded they are actually two pieces molded together symmetrically. You can actually see the line running laterally with the tire all the way around. They are notorious for being severely out of balance. My suggestion is to locate where the vibration is coming from, most likely the rear tires, play around with the tire pressure. ultimately i used balancing beads but i had to play around with amount. I used Counteract balancing beads, added 2oz to what they suggested and added them into my tires, smooth as ever.

If KO2 is not option, there are plenty of others. Have 20" DuraTracs on mine w/o any balance issues.

sounds like u have the same issues as me they are a pita to balance. after every rotation they are all ****** up again. i wasnt impressed with how these did in the snow or ice mud was ok... and rain wasnt that great either gonna go with a toyo rt next time. only thing is that these tires last a long time currently 18k miles on them and still have 12/32s even after the way i drive

any other tires that look aggressive, quiet, and also great in the snow? As much as these have complaints, they still rank number 1 for A/T. other than these ones I really have not thought about others.

Nitto Ridge Grapplers or Toyo RT, both are better than the KO in looks and performance imho...

Had my KO2 mounted and balanced twice on 20" (due to rim change). No issues whatsoever.

You could consider having them shaved. Guys with trucks that go with really big tires use this method all the time. They actually do it with the tires and wheels still mounted on the truck and I’ve heard great things on the results.
