I fill up with Shell or Chevron or 76 and I average 15mpg.

I fill up with Maverick (cheap stuff) and I average 18mpg.

I’ve done this multiple times with the same result. Same exact route driven. Same time of year. In cruise control. Idc but… am I loosing my mind?

"Gas stations get their fuel from the major refineries, they can charge less because they don’t have to pay for franchising or marketing fees etc… He did say though that what matters is how clean and how well maintained the gas station is, because dirty fuel is a big problem."

Maybe the maverick has cleaner better kept tanks.

I have the exact opposite experience, I notice a 5-15% reduction in fuel economy with Maverick gas. I always use top tier detergent fuel now.

I know… it’s the strangest thing man. I just do it when the train is blocking off everything else and I need to get going.

Are you going by filling up after the trip or car’s Commodore 64 computer? If the former, unexplainable. If the latter, you are losing your mind. In two cross country trips in 2 Gen2s, NY to Raptor Assault via Nashville, and Moab, then NY to Genesee, Id, I never averaged more than 17 at best, all based on car computer.

I also notice it’s very slow to react and reset. When I trailer, it takes a while to realize and readjust. When trailer is off, can take two days and a fill-up to start going back to normal m
