Playing around the other day and decided to mount my iPad to one of the rubber console cup holders using my RAM 201-U 4.5" double socket arm. Worked so well that I just ordered the RAM 201U-D 8" double socket arm to get it higher off the console. Am thinking of creating a "quick release" mounted directly to the console (remove the rubber insert) and am wondering....

....for those of you who have removed the console, is there anything critical just below the front cup holder?

The console removes extremely easy. Pull the small panel out that is behind the upfitters. Just pull down on it and work it out. Then shift trans to N and pull up on the whole piece. Should be about a 5 minute mod to mount it there bud
