Wondering, which of the currently available aftermarket "BOLT-ON" bumpers, offer the best improvement in approach angle / clearance over the stock set-up?

Has there been any comparisons yet?

Be nice to see some of that info compiled here if possible.

Mostly interested in the front end, as I imagine that most of the bolt on rear's aren't going to change much. (correct me if I am mistaken in this assumption).

I was actually looking for this exact info, but was disappointed there were no relies. Wish someone replied to this thread. I'm very interested myself. I already have a bumper, but the info would be interesting. Hard to know without having the bumpers sitting in front of me or someone who's seen several in person. However, I would imagine any bumpers which bolt to the factory location would be very similar. And if one wanted to run a winch it would probably limit the space required if the frame rails were cut.

Yeah...I'm pretty sure to get an improvement over stock in this area you'll be looking at cutting the frame back. I know my ADD bumper didn't improve mine. I got it for protection though and it has that in spades.

If any bumper manufactures were to comment on this, I would imagine it would be a marketable point. Example: "Our bumper has improved approach angle / clearance compared to stock and most aftermarket bumper.... (details)". Just information I haven't heard publicly announced by any shops, but seems the interest in information is there. But I guess If their bumpers weren't the best approach angle / clearance, it could hurt business.

Just look at the vendors on this forum and what bumpers they provide, you will quickly conclude that the bumpers from RPG provide the best approach angles.

I don't think any are much better than stock. The skid plate can only do so much with the frame sticking so far out there.
And same with the rear, it's not the bumpers that keep your angle down, it's the stock hitch which is seperate.

I cut both my front and rear and had a custom fully bolt on set up created. I have never regretted it and will never look back.

This really is the way to go, the ADD stuff is really nice looking but it does jut out a bit more then the non raceline rpg it would seem. The non raceline RPG front bumper i think really only gets you minmal increase in approach angle judging by the looks of it. The only real way to do this right is to trim the frame front/rear, dovetail the rear, etc.

Why is that a :(? It is soooo much better. Look at my approach angle now. Thats like 45 degrees. And it came in handy at the dunes several times. I wouldn't even touch while the stock bumpers are taking huge bites out of the sand.
