I've been looking into getting an exhaust and/or long tube headers for my 6.2l. Ive seen claims that net 40whp. This doesn't seem doable to me. Is this true? I doubt it. Maybe if its supercharged?

Not with just those parts. The hp gain comes from the tune that accounts for those modifications.

Yes of course. This would be after a tune. Well I can see if ford may have limited the power output due to emissions why the increase would be substantial. Maybe we can get some good hp with no mods and just a tune. Hmmmm

I haven't been on in a while, just reading through this thread and can say that without a tune I don't see how it is possible. I don't have evidence to back up my claim since when we did my engine work we did most all at one time. At the start of my build I don't have dyno data to sup[port my claim. Just from what I know about the power unit makes it very hard to believe that 75HP increase is possible without a tune.

If there is dyno evidence I would like to be proven wrong.

You definitely can. SVC makes a tune for the stock raptor and it was showing rwhp improvents above 40.

Ok seems i have started a debate. The 75hp is based on estimates and not a dyno you guys can debate the merits , i wîl be doing a dyno in about a month when i tune my truck.

I did dyno it stock and i got 366HP and 404LBS of torque at the wheels. Spd claims on their website 24 hp and 43 lbs
Of torque after installation. My friend dynoed his truck and actally got 30hp.

Regardless ,
24-30 hp spd adaptors
5-10 hp Cold air intake i have heare claims of even 15 hp by some companies
10-20 hp new downpipes and non restrictive exhaust system (borla) this part i am on board with 10-20 hp is highly likely
Removal of extra weight 5hp i.e spare

The high end is 75 low end 40 the goal of the video was to create intrest not to have a debate i will have exact numbers in a month. But given what i have seen from my buddies truck who gained 40 hp without new downpipes or air intake i am comfortable saying i will be over 50hp maybe more

We shall see when i dyno maybe i am wrong

Please get the new numbers from the same dyno you used the first time or the numbers will not be valid. All of your HP numbers are what the sellers claim and none of them are backed up by third party results. The closest one is the SPD Turbo Adapters and they are probably closer to 15 HP.

Please run it on the dyno BEFORE adding the tune, so there is no "estimating" what the tune did versus the other mods. Then, run it again AFTER the tune.

PS. I have never heard anyone saying removing the weight of a tire from their truck adds 5 HP to the engine output. :ROFLJest:

I really dont want to add anymore fuel to this but...... you might have gained 25 hp , maybe.
You want hp , get a tune.
