Greg, this might be of interest to you and to others who want the intake air as cool as possible. After a normal drive I noticed that the intake tube was very, very warm to the touch. I thought some kind of insulation might mitigate that, and found it at Auto Zone in their performance section. It's called Thermo Shield. It's not for exhaust use, but it works just fine in this intake application. See photo.
