This is true, but leaves out some important subtleties. Good reputation means that you happily pay ADMs when times are normal and you happily pay MSRP when the dealer down the street is selling at invoice. They respect money. If they think that they can get more of it from you over the long run than they can get from someone else in a one-off, they'll do it.
