it is certainly doable. I'd consider myself a pretty experienced hobbyist. I was initially sweating bullets when it came time to do the chop for my svc bumper ( super similar cut-wise).

Use masking tape. Ask for photos. Take your time.

Measure 4 times, cut once.

That being said, we're not talking about the need for precision cuts to the mm.

I used an angle grinder and cutting wheel.

I also did a rear dovetail bumper. ( and chopped the exhaust just beyond the muffler, then did turn downs. )
