XL Racer optics are different then XL/XL80.

XL Racers are 4300 lumen each and designed to throw light in one spot... WAYYY down range. So while they don't pack a lot of lumen, they have different optics. (http://www.4x4truckleds.com/led-auxiliary-lights/baja-designs/xl-racer-edition/)

The XL80 are 9500 lumen each. While not offered in a spot pattern we stock all the lenses Baja makes so I swapped out the Driving/Combo I had for spots. They seem to work great. I opted for Spot over Driving/Combo because i wanted to reduce glare as much as possible. I had bad glare on my white F150 but no glare on the lightning blue one it seems, so i probably could have gone with Driving/Combo. BUT because I also run 4x LP9 in Driving/Combo I don't really need XL80s in driving/combo... so spot it was (http://www.4x4truckleds.com/led-auxiliary-lights/baja-designs/xl80/)

What's the difference between XL80 and XL-R 80 please? Bezel appears round rather than slightly square.

All the -Rs are just with the round faceplate. The rest is identical and parts can be mixed and matched.

Yeah... what Kahuna said :)

They are identical. It's just the face plate that is different. Same mounts, same harness, same output, same lights, same boards, etc... just the bezel.

We keep all of the bezels in stock as well. Sometimes folks order the regular square kind and want to change the round bezels later, so we always keep them on hand.

I just sold 3 sets of XL-R's to a local shop that's throwing them on their quads. They preferred the round bezel over the square. I personally like the square bezels

does anyone know if you can get the brackets in black or are they all raw metal?

As stated above, you'd have to get them powder coated. If you order the lights from us we can have them powder coated prior to sending them out to you for an additional fee.

I have the Rigid Sideshots with the SDHQ Pillar Mounts, In all honesty I probably wouldn't recommend this setup to anybody looking at add A-pillar lights. There is so much light reflection/glare off the hood. I had to aim mine up and out to the sides some just to reduce it. Even aimed high and out to the sides there is alot of reflection on the hood. They are fine for the little amount they get used. I probalbly would do something diffrent if there is a "Next Time"
