The sipes in the tire are what make it good on ice.. if you're driving in deep snow mud tires are fine, while they can be a bit slippy on ice, the other performance areas they excel in, is worth the trade off. I live in the Chicago area and have run toyo m/ts for years with no complaints.. it seems the toyos have more sipes than the bfg though

Got the install goop washed off the tires and wheels and gave the beauty rings(5) and bolts(60) a good cleaning since they were off the wheels. Used compressed air to blow out each bolt hole before reassembly. All back togather, ready for whatever mother nature throws my way. I try not to go out when it's icy, so I got that going for me.
