Ok so long story short I have a couple fellow employees that think we need to get out and drag em.

I haven't driven these or anything similar for over a year. How does the Raptor stack up to these?
I could care less who's wins a drag race, and we likely won't really run them anyway, but since we started discussing, I become curious.

Mine:
2012 Raptor Supercrew

Theres:
06 Chevy Vortec Max 6.0 4x4 Extra Cab (4door) 4:10 gear I think (maybe 3.73's)???
09 Dodge Hemi 4x4 Crew Cab 3:90 gears I think???

All are stock trucks, no add ons, etc.

A quick internet search reveals the following:
06 Chevy 5300 Lb. & 345 HP 0-60=7.4
09 Dodge 6610 Lb. & 390 HP 0-60=6.7
12 Raptor 6210 Lb. & 411 HP 0-60=6.5

I don't know about you guys but my Raptor is definately not a 6.5 second truck. Maybe I've lost power somewhere along the line.

I am sure the 'Raptor purists' will chime in soon with their cliche phrases...

"Raptors were never meant to touch any surface except dirt!"
"Race him off road!"
"Drag races in a Raptor on the streets, is like being in the special olympics..."
"Sounds like you bought the wrong SVT Truck"

And other similar phrases...

Which is why I am working on a 'rolling dirt box' for my truck.

Basically I will have my truck in a box filled with actual baja sand that I had imported from Mexico! But inside of the box will be a mechanism, that when I turn the Raptor's wheels, it will make the box roll at the same speed and be able to steer!!!

So when I drive to work I won't look like a 'poser' owner!!!

Awesome Idea, Huh?

I may be selling them soon so stay posted.

All of the things you said are just new ways of saying the same old wise words.

"Don't race on the street".

It's just not a good idea. It never will be a good idea either. Sure, everyone has done it when they are young, but that doesn't make it a smart call.

Worst case, you wreck and kill someone else, you live, their family takes legal action against you, and they find your posts on a forum talking about drag racing on public roads.

Or, you just wreck, and screw up your truck and your insurance finds posts about you drag racing on public roads. That may/may not screw up your insurance claim.

"drag racing" in the dirt is the same idea as a track, it's off public roads, where nobody but you and your competitor stand to get hurt. Food for thought.
