Just got my 5 star in the mail today....waiting on them to send me the Raptor tunes...excited to awaken the beast!

Did they not preload the tunes onto the tuner?

Got my tuner from 5star today. Definitely a novice here but I loaded the 87 econ with no issues and took it out for a test spin. Incredible difference in the throttle response. Will play with this one for a few days and see if I want to try a different tune.

One question: the paper that came with the tuner mentions in the FAQ question 6 that "you may return to stock and tune another vehicle 5 times". They are specifically answering a question about using the tuner on more than one vehicle but what's the deal with the 5 times comment? Can I only change my tune 5 times?

I seriously hope there is NOT a limit on how many times you can tune your truck as you will need to return your truck back to stock before any emissions test.

I was under the impression each Tuner was coded to the specific truck. That is why you must give 5Star the PCM and/or strategy code.

I was under the same impression about the specific tune to the specific vehicle.

All these reviews help out. Looks like trying to justify the tuner and intake for increased mpg is minimal if your right foot is heavy. Looks like its overall drive feel that it takes care of and the intake is more sound and overall experience.

I can't wait to upgrade.

OK I received my SCT Tuner from Mike @ 5Star today. When ordering the tuner online I selected 5 custom tunes so my question... were they preloaded on the tuner? Some of you guys mentioned that you received custom tunes via email. The instructions does not speak to if my custom tunes were preloaded or will I get them via email.

Also, I really do not want to install my custom tunes until I can save my stock tune. The instruction only mention this "The stock file is stored during initial programming."

If you received the tuner from mike they would be pre installed. As for your stock tune-- you will only be able to save it once you program the truck with one of the 5 you got from him.

Yeah...The tunes should be preloaded...Plug it up and backup your stock tune to the SCT and load a custom tune...

Which Tunes did you opt for?
