3rd gear 4.5k+ rpm chirping sound

Hopefully one of these will help some folks hear it. It’s the exact same sound and all in high rpm 3rd gear.

Just tried it in 4A and 4H. The noise isnt there. It only happens in 2WD. I also tried all the different modes. In baja 2wd the noise is less noticeable.

To me it sounds like a belt or pulley is making the noise. I know Corvettes would have a similar noise under hard acceleration and it was the belt that caused it.

In 4A or 4H you are putting different stresses on the engine. Maybe, that's keeping it from making the squeaking sound. I'm honestly not sure. Just my stupid thought. Haha

The saga continues

Did an oil change and threw in new SP542 plugs gapped at .26
Still getting the noise, albeit not as pronounced, but it’s still there.
I tried 4A and 4HI, noise is not present until 3 to 4 shift, where I’ll catch a little rattle but only under certain loads.

So i have been running around with the go pro in the engine bay and cannot hear the chirping. I moved the gopro down on the skid plate and can hear it. I wonder what could cause it to happen around certain rpm range with it being power train related. I've only ever heard it in 3rd and 4th gear above 4k rpm

Another GoPro shot. Any ideas? Had it in the engine bay and couldn’t heard. Same with under front dif. Leaning towards hub bearing or brake on driver side?

FWIW that’s exactly the sound I’ve been hearing as well.

Sounds like maybe a vacuum/hub issue. Doesn't do it in 4wd is a clue? And I believe in the scenario in the video showing the front wheel, there would be low vacuum at that rpm/acceleration. Vacuum may be backing off enough to let the hubs start to engage?

one would think. I pulled the vacuum and still makes the noise in 2hi. 4a doesn’t make the noise. So I’m thinking it’s not a vacuum issue and maybe something with the front transfer case on the driver side?

Here is a video of 2wd with IWE engaged. Still makes noise.
