So the stereo shop. What do you think? Can we get a box made that will fit 3 JBL 12" subs under the back seat of my 4 door Raptor?

airspace is the magic word. just because you can physically fit 3 woofers there doesnt mean it will sound good. if the speaker does not have enough airspace then the sound will not be quite what you would expect. you could do two woofers in a ported box, which will probably be a bit louder than 3 in a sealed box. do you have specs on the woofers?

HAHAHAHA---love it! The system must be integrated......... Most folks who install the high power speakers do not even have the proper way to power them. Much more to this than meets the eye unless you want it to sound like ass..

Just a thought here but the 12’s might not be the best path forward on the Raptor depending on if you want to keep the back seat useable. Problem is the throw and having enough clearance given the space under the seat. Might consider 2 of the TWL13.5s running a ugly amount of Clean power to them (use a TL1000 to this one speaker and the birth certificate that comes with the amp shows a little over 1300). I run one and have modified the stock box to fit in a different 8in JL. The original 13.5 lasted a little over a year before it gave up but the amp running the 13.5. The 8 only runs a JL XD300 but it has been turned down a little.

The most important part is what powers the Focal KRX2’s I use a amp that is not around anymore but is one of the best for what I needed an Alpine PDX-4.150 bridged to give each side 300. Is not only SDL but SQL… Will have to upgrade the battery—I use the Sears that is a Gel-Mat unit built by Odyssey which is arguably the best out right now. Also, for the 2 big amps have 0 gauge wire going from the battery and then to a splitter on the back wall.

Listen to this man he knows of what he speaks..

I'm considering taking my seats out and putting in my JL W7 13.5 sub in that I had in my old truck... Hardly have anyone ever in the back seats.

I recommend two digital designs 8's you wouldn't believe how ungodly Loud they are and they are perfect for the amount of airspace you have in your truck. I'm also running a 1000w amp

The 8 will not produce the lower frequencies even if you have 4 of them. Also, when running the subs CLEAN power is the key. If there is not enough head room available then any speaker will be limited no matter what the size..

I think for the space we have 2 quality 10's in the required air space with the correct amount of clean power is the best bet all around, if u want SPL AND SQ.

That's of course without ripping seats out or cutting cabs and beds......

I was thinking about going with JL 13.5 Shallows under the back seats but nobody is crazy enough to buy the 13.5" W7 I have so may as well use it up till it blows.

you can remove the backseat and make a box to replace it. you can cushion the top and cover it so it works as a functioning seat as well as have the w7 in there

correct. the voice coil on an 8 in woofer is much smaller than a 12. the speakers can be made to play very loud, but the range of frequencies is limited to the size of the voice coil.
