I fail to see why so many get all worked up over that stupid tailgate plastic. I hate it.

It's not so much I desire the black plastic, i just loathe the alternative. The tail gate without it looks like a Lariat tail gate with a Raptor badge from the scrap accessory bin stuck on it.

If you are dead set on receiving your 23 order, then the tailgate should not be a deal breaker. CO is my favorite color on a Raptor now. So I may be a little biased.

I am dead set on my avalanche 2023 model. But Kind of want to "strike while the iron is hot" on my lightning and my 22 Tundra Pro.

Just my 2 cents as a ford dealer right now, private sell your lightning and buy the raptor. Lariat lightnings private market are going for 100k+ used. It's ridiculous.

I agree. Private sell the lightning. The lightnings are bringing big markups even used. Raptors are harder to sell at a markup. So the know they make way more money selling the lightning than the Raptor. Straight trade not worth it to me.

I'm OK with how it looks ... but it's a dirt trap. I can pressure wash behind it for five minutes and dirt still drools from behind a minute after I turn around.

So now dealer has code orange in similar build but black interior except the tail gate appliqué is deleted. That’s a deal breaker honestly, unless the cost to replace the tailgate with it isn’t horrible and is worked into the deal.

Lot of haters of the tailgate panel, but it’s a personal preference, and my personal preference is to have it. It’s part of the Raptor identity, instantly recognizable, and exclusive to the Raptor.

Another reason I don't want mine. I'd much rather be low profile. Nothing good comes from getting attention from the sorts of people that pay attention to Raptors. Folks like us.
