According to Brian Lazott (Design Supervisor of the 5.2 engine) interviewed by TFL Talk, the plant is being moved to Dearborn. It will be a new niche assembly line, right next door to the Dearborn truck plant. "Lots of strong reasons to do that".

Interesting, that makes sense then!

I wish they gave more details on this. IE I hope they did it to increase production volume. Which I guess they'd have to since they now have two vehicles using the SC5.2.

Not happening on 2023, but I would REALLY like to see them come out with the Terrain(aka "Desert Storm") or a Tan/Coyote Tan/Flat Dark Earth color on the 2024 models......I plan on replacing my Gen 2 with an R or a EcoB Gen 3 around then.......

That would be about right. Hey let’s release Avalanche again so people will pony the extra for a trade in right after they bought a 21/22 Gen3. Then for 24 we will drop terrain back just for the Raptor so they trade it in on another one.

Looks like if your on the gas, the R get around 7 mpg.

Here's a screenshot of the Raptor R on Engineering Explained.

1. Fuel gauge is around 3/4's of a tank. 36 gallon tank - 9 = 27 gallons. 198 miles to empty / 27 gallons = 7.33 mpg

2. Or 198 miles to empty + 44.9 miles on odometer = 242.9 total miles with 36 gallons. 242 miles / 36gallon = 6.74 mpg. Maybe the fuel tank wasn't topped off?

Obviously the engine is not broken. Maybe 8mpg city 10 hwy?

In that Marketing vehicle, it may be due to all the press oppy's that it sat idle while people were videoing, and that it was driven off-road to the location. No way to tell.

There was another YouTube video on tfl I believe and it was about the same calculation 7mpg. Guess will see when they publish the numbers. I'm thinking 10-12 city 14-15 hwy.

Good observation. I will admit to a bit of yearning for an R. Calculations like this confirm my choice to stay with the TTV6. I like feeling validated. Thank you.
