Well, sounds legit. I think it's good that they are keeping the same engine as they have all of the kinks out of it now anyway. Waiting for specs on the v8.

The updated cam phaser was in production 2 1/2 years ago.
Looking at the date you posted in the engine thread, mine's on the edge with a 09/18 build date; it got the issue around 18k miles in. Will watch my friends' '19s and '20s and see if they fare better than the <= '18s I'm familiar with (5 raptors), which all had the issue.

Base engine? You mean the only engine, at least for 2021. There's only one option listed. So another year of reading about the V8 that is just around the corner.

The posters in the leak thread are also starting there will NOT be a supercab Raptor for gen 3.

not at all surprised the 3.5 will remain the base engine.

we know the gen 3 debuts on feb 3rd and everyone is calling this a 2021 raptor but has any of the leaked info confirmed it will be available this year? i wont be surprised if ford makes 2022 the first year with everything is so screwed up and they cant even get the bronco out in a reasonable time.

Well, it won’t be a very exciting release if it has the same old engine it has had for the last five years. Huge disappointment, with no option for a 700+ HP forced induction V8.

Why would the leak from Car and Driver happen making mentioning of the V8 option and then that not actually be an option??? Makes no sense. I think there will be at least 2 engine options. Fingers crossed

Do you guys think all engine options will be available upon release of the 3rd gen? Or do you think we'll have to wait longer for the V8?
