I actually don't think Ford ever cared all that much about the Raptor having the quickest 0-60 time--they simply gave it more power to make up for the larger tires and because they needed to be able to market the flagship F150 with the highest power figures.I think they would have been content with that until the rednecks at Ram pulled the only party trick they have by stuffing a big motor in a half-ton pickup, at which point Ford realized they had to defend the Raptor's market share. That's how we end up with two Raptors for the third generation--the regular one that is meant to continue the 'mission', and the R model to counter the TRX.Seems kind of like how Apple resisted making large screen iPhones for years, but finally had to give in and release the iPhone 6+ with a big screen because the competition eventually forced their hand.</blockquote>
