Man, I have R1 brakes and to do it over, I'd keep stock. The stock brakes work fine. The R1's work better, but not for the overall cost I have in it. Brakes, 18" wheels (they do NOT fit 17's), labor, machining brackets because they did not fit properly, more labor, etc.

Stock works well. R1 works betters but not that much.

Where did you purchase your R1 Brakes and what ones did you get, eLines or GeoMets or BBK?

forgot to mention that I swapped out the stock beadlock 17” wheel for 20” wheels on 35s. Stick with stock brakes?

We hear all the time where customers go directly to R1 Concepts for brakes and they are not happy or mediocre outcome as @Cornwallis mentioned, which I believe he did himself.

We have sold thousands of brake kits to Raptor owners since 2013 with excellent reviews over and over again. We sell kits every single day. Yes we use R1 Concept rotors but only the Carbon GeoMets and we have an exclusive arrangement with them that we double coat the rotors, once before they are cut and again after they are cut. They do not offer this to the direct consumer. We also do not use their brake pads, we tried them and did not have the results that we know Raptor owners need for their truck. In addition to the brake kit upgrade, we also offer Stainless Steel brake lines which will help with the brake feel and give you additional performance of your brakes. You will notice a difference.

We also offer R1 Concepts BBK and Alcon BBK's. Even though I don't condone 20" wheels on a raptor, any of our brake kits will work with that setup.

Just look at our reviews, they speak for themselves.

I can put together a FRF discounted package with brake lines or you can order the kit from our website.

Glad I could help, message me if you have any questions,

Direct from R1 as Freedom Motorsports mentioned here. I didn't really realize there was other ways to get them at the time. That said, if Freedom stands behind the kits then maybe the experience would be much different.

I don't know...stock brakes work. I mean what's an F150 rated to tow nowadays? It's a lot...that tells me stock brakes are no slouch. But if you drive hard or like the look then yeah, why not?

I had an experience that wasn't great with the kit, that's where I can leave it. I purchased direct from R1 (who would guess that wouldn't be the way to go?) and had a lot of problems to work through. My truck was laid up for a week while I bought new wheels/tires, got brackets machined, etc. If others have a better experience that's awesome.

stock brakes suck i smoked mine pedal to the floor brake fade. I went direct to R1 never had a single issue. have 22K miles on mine.

I have the largest kit they make which requires a 20in wheel and even then it barley clears the wheel. I have 500 rwhp and drive it like i drive my mclaren 720s
still no brake fade or any issues.

16 in front 8 piston rear 15 in 6 piston

you can see from the 1 pic size diff of stock size rotor
