Hi, everyone!

I picked up a 2020 Raptor with the 802A, carbon fiber, beadlock wheels in magnetic last week. I've got about 550 miles on it thus far and have enjoyed every minute of it. I've wanted one since they first came out and my TRD Pro Tacoma just wasn't cutting it anymore (kind of a mini raptor in a sense).

I've been looking at all kinds of posts on this forum and figured I'd jump on board. I've got my first 'checkup' scheduled next week for an oil change, tire rotation, top off any fluids and multi-point inspection. The works.

I did however notice something kind of strange tonight. I just finished grabbing dinner with my buddy and I went to show him the truck. The truck had been locked, so I tried pushing the remote start and it didn't work (no big deal). So I hit the lock button twice, then started it up remotely no problem. I noticed when I shut the doors and pushed the start button, my ambient lighting wasn't illuminating. It would work when I opened the door with the truck running, but upon closing the door, they weren't lit up.

After I got home I fiddled with the setting and found the ambient lighting adjuster. It was turned all the way down. After reseting them, I had no issues.

Could it just be some gremlins in the system or what?

I'll see if the problem persists, and I'm glad I have a scheduled appointment soon incase anything else pops up.

Thank you! Happy to be here.

Congrats on the new ride. Read the manual. It will take you a few days to figure out all the features and settings.

Above all, enjoy the Raptor and try not to get drawn into all the issues on the board. If there’s a problem, get it fixed.

Congrats on the new truck. It does take a little while of reading and just sitting inside of it, going through all the settings.

Enjoy!

I’m not clear on the above sequence, but if you’re starting from the fob remotely, 2x lock + start is the correct sequence.

I’m not sure this is actually a problem.

so it’s probably fine.

definitely get familiar with what buttons do what, which settings do what and where they are.

Just one more thing. Pictures. Or you really bought:

Remote start isn't the issue. I was just wondering if a wrong remote start sequence might throw off lighting settings, but I doubt it.

It probably is fine, but no, I don't want to have to go into the settings for ambient lighting every time I start my truck up at night.
