After along wait my brand new 2019 F150 Raptor in Performance Blue, was delivered to me from my local Ford dealership here in Yangon, Myanmar (Rangon, Burma).

Was brought to me and parked outside my office and just an hour ago, I wanted to do my first test drive.

Since 35 degrees and hot here I pressed the key to do remote start and cool down a bit before entering, but just blinking lights and a beep and no start. I am familiar with the remote start from my old 2014 Gen 1 Raptor.

Getting into the car I started it up and noticed that there were no display of gauges after upper cpart of the display. Just black, no turbo pressure, fuel level et.

After 2 min of running, the main instrument display started to deteriorate, become garbled/ distorted and not able to read or see symbols.

Thought it could be the battery, so let it idke for 20 mins. Stoppet it and started again. This time the whole dashboard was black, but the speedometre and rpm counter flashed on every 20 seconds and then our again. All other black.
Still thinking that it was the battery, I took it for a spin. After 15 mins driving, the turning signals stopped working. Then three radio display went off and radio kept booting on and off. Dark outside and instrument display at all.

So not a great experience receiving a brand new Raptor from dealership in this condition.

Will bring to dealership first thing in the morning, but if anyone have an idea in regards to what this could be, feel free to send a reply or comment.

Should have been a day if joy, finally getting this wonderful machine. Instead just disappointment.

this sounds like a bad sync module. you’re right, this is not how the first day should go. I hope they get it fixed for you quickly.

Yes, looks like it for the radio, but that the instrument cluster has compleyel disappeared abd just flashes up evert 20 seconds, as well as the turn signals not working outside, inducates another problem too I guess..
Bad contact, cabling or another controller unit faulty.

Burma?

20 minutes of driving isn't going to recharge a battery that's been sitting for a while in a container. I'd start with replacing that completely then look for loose grounds.

I had a similar experience with my 2019 when new. Disconnecting the negative cable at the battery for five (5) minutes and reconnecting resolved my issue. Hasn’t happened since in 5000 miles.

Hi all

I spent hours searching the internet for a possible cause for this and found a 100% identical case on this forum.
So reason found, but don't know how to fix it.

When plugging in my iphone cable into the upper USB socket in the dashboard mid console, this happens. After a few minutes things start to fail, one by one. First distorted gauge display, loss of upper gaugecdisplay, then complete blackout of the whole dashboard display, speedometre, rpm counter....all of it. Then turn signal (outside) stops working, radio keeps restarting.

Taking out the iphone lightning cable, will fix the problem. Car goes back to normal after being turned off and restarted after a bit of waiting.

So no apple car play for me until this have been fixed. Lower USB socket dimmer cause this, only upper. Lower dont charge or connect car play either.
Tried with other phone and new cable, but still total collapse.

Hopefully dealer will fund out what that needs changing.

Another thing. First driving impression, having my second drive in Yangon city yesterday was teeth shattering and a bit scary. When cornering or driving on windy roads with pitholes and extremely uneven surface, the back of the car felt unstable and slid right and left.

Found out that tires had 44psi in them.
Aired down to 36 front and 33 back and then things became much much better.

So, finally I am ready to battle the terrible roads of upper and lower Burma, where driving 100 Miles takes 5-6 hours with a normal car. Not anymore for me.....hehehe...

you might need a new dash cluster,
mine would flash on and off and that was the answer

No, got the EU version (radio with all frequencies, km/hr speedometer etc.)

Have driven 2500 miles last week and lost gauges and dashboard display about 10-12 times.

Going in for a check next week.

A bit annoying, especially at night, since cannot see speedometer etc.
